A concrete example of an AI R&D unit
For Kickmaker which operates as a service provider and designer/producer of industrial prototypes and pre-production models, we have set up an AI R&D unit to enhance the company's range of services so as to integrate artificial intelligence and, more generally, new uses for data into its customers' innovation projects.
4 Datalchemy engineers work continuously on the following functions :
- Technology watch
- Drafting of research summary notes
- Pre-sales support for sales teams
- Software or algorithmic prototyping
- Support for production teams
- Training internal teams to transfer skills
This AI unit has been in existence for 10 months, and has enabled the emergence of 4 concrete end-customer projects integrating AI into their projects, as well as providing additional leverage for innovation through a research project funded by the PIB.
It should also be noted that more than 10 people have been trained in the specifics of AI and are now operational to produce or manage projects incorporating machine or deep learning.
